Fascia release massage is a specialized therapeutic practice that targets the fascia, a complex connective tissue network that envelops muscles, bones, and organs within the body. Imagine it as a pliable yet intricate web that provides structural support. Over time, due to factors such as stress, poor posture, or injury, this fascia can become tense or constricted, potentially leading to discomfort and restricted movement.
The essence of fascia release massage lies in its ability to alleviate these tensions. Through the skilled application of manual techniques, a combination of gentle manipulation, deliberate stretching, and nuanced pressure, the relaxation of the fascia is facilitated and encouraged. This process reduces tightness and enhances the tissue’s elasticity.
One of the intriguing aspects of fascia release massage is its potential for both immediate relief and lasting benefits. Clients often report an immediate sense of relaxation and relief from muscular tension during the session. Beyond the immediate experience, regular sessions can contribute to improved flexibility, increased range of motion, and a heightened sense of overall well-being.
During a fascia release massage session, clients will experience a serene atmosphere where they can unwind. Communication is integral, as clients can provide feedback on sensations and areas needing attention.
In essence, fascia release massage offers a pathway to harmonizing the body’s internal structure. By addressing the intricate fascial network, it endeavors to restore comfort, facilitate movement, and promote a sense of vitality. If seeking a modality that combines therapeutic insight with relaxation, fascia release massage stands as a compelling choice worth exploring.
For the optimal massage experience, we recommend arriving with clean, dry skin that is free from creams and oils. This practice ensures that the massage techniques can be applied most effectively, allowing for a more thorough and precise manipulation of the underlying tissues.

The experience and results will vary depending on the reasons for your treatment. While first treatments can always feel a little uncomfortable while getting used to a new therapist, I do my utmost to help you feel safe and comfortable in your environment. I have a deep understanding of the autonomic nervous system and use my knowledge to create a safe space. This allows for a more effective treatment once the body and mind are relaxed. True results are experienced after 2 days. If you aren’t having regular massages you might feel a little off the next day as toxins are moving through and out your body, it’s always good to drink substantial amount of water. By day 2 you should be feeling the effects of the treatment.
Chronic pain caused by conditions like fibromyalgia or repetitive strain injuries can be alleviated through fascia massage. By targeting and releasing fascial restrictions, the treatment can help reduce pain and discomfort. It’s especially benificial for back and hip flexor pain as I concentrate on the areas responsible for the restrictions that cause the discomfort.
Fascia massage helps to release tension and tightness in the fascia, allowing for improved flexibility and range of motion in the muscles and joints. This can be particularly beneficial for athletes, dancers, or anyone wanting to enhance their physical performance. Poor posture can result from imbalances in the fascia and muscles. Fascia massage helps realign the fascial tissue, promoting better posture and reducing strain on the body. This can lead to decreased pain and improved overall function.
Most definately! Because fascia massage targets the superficial layers under the skin, the treatment should never feel painful in any way. Once your primary concerns are addressed and you are feeling more comfortable in your body, maintenance programmes are a really nice feel good to keep your body feeling fluid.
FTR can help relieve tension and release adhesions in the fascia surrounding the hip flexors and shoulders as well as releasing tightness of the psoas. This can lead to increased flexibility and a wider range of motion in these areas, allowing riders to move more freely and comfortably while riding. A relaxed and well-functioning fascial system can enhance a rider’s stability and balance. When the fascia around the hips and shoulders is supple, riders can better absorb the horse’s movements and maintain their balance in various riding disciplines. Riders may find that they are more capable of maintaining a strong, balanced seat, which is essential for correct rider biomechanics which will in turn tremendously support the horse.
I always recommend to start with 3-4 treatments when targeting a specific issue, be it pain or even scar tissue. I like to describe the process as peeling back onion layers. The more time we spend on it the more can be released and the deeper we can get into the fascial layers. A week or even two weeks between these initial sessions are great.
Each session is tailored to your needs and/or any specific areas that need attention. An hour is enough for a basic treatment where a 1.5 hour session will allow for a full body and more in depth experience.
It’s best to wear loose, comfortable clothing for your treatment that’s easy to take off and put back on yourself. Depending on the duration of the treatment or if it’s a specific area requiring attention, most clients are happy to be in their underwear and/or high cut shorts for a treatment, however, if I am only working on your upper body, it’s quite ok to stay in trackpants.
